Atlas Weekend
The format for those who don't have a full week, and who still don't want a mere taster. In three riding days we loop the entire High Atlas over its two great passes. The Tizi n'Test first, above 2,000 metres: a narrow road cut into the mountainside, stringing hairpins together for tens of kilometres. Then Taroudant, known as little Marrakech, entirely enclosed by ochre mud ramparts and without the crowds of its bigger sister. The second day crosses the Jebel Siroua, an isolated volcanic massif between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas, via Taliouine and its saffron fields. The road climbs above 2,500 metres — the highest point of the tour. This is a Morocco very few travellers see: lava plateaus, stone villages, empty horizons. We finish with the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou and the return to Marrakech over the Tizi n'Tichka at 2,260 metres. Two major passes, two mountain faces, a loop that never covers the same ground twice. 100 % tarmac, with 15 to 30 % easy off-road on request. BMW F 800, F 850 or F 900 GS fully equipped, support vehicle carrying the luggage, certified guide riding ahead. Small group built by matched ability. Pillion welcome.
